13.06.05 - Belize City

Montag morgen hab ich mir die mit nur 55000 Einwohnern größte Stadt des Staates Belize mal ein wenig angeguckt. Man entdeckt reichlich zwielichtige Gestalten (im Gegensatz zu nachts ist es bei Tageslicht aber eher ungefährlich), manches erinnert irgendwie an ein typisches Piratennest. Passenderweise gibt es auch ein Piratenmuseum in der Stadt (das leider zu der Zeit, als ich da war, geschlossen hatte).
Nachdem ich (für Hotel und Busfahrt) ein wenig Geld gewechselt (1 Euro = ca. 2,40 Belize-Dollar) und mir die wichtigsten Sehenswürdigkeiten angesehen hatte, packte ich meine Sachen und ging zur Novelo's Bus Station, von wo ich einen Bus nach Benque Viejo del Carmen an der Grenze nach Guatemala nahm.
