The second day we got up with sunrise, had breakfast and continued our hike at 7 o'clock. After finding the trail
again we soon reached the mountain ridge and often walked close to very steep slopes on one or both sides,
really nice views despite the fog. At Shinsen no Shuku camp we could refill our water supplies at an ancient water spring
in a huge rock. After climbing several summits on the trail, including Shakaga-dake (1790 m) and Hakkeiga-dake (1915 m)
we finally reached Misen hut (1895 m) just after sunset and 11 hours hiking. We put our tent, borrowed some gas from
a nice fellow camper
(I had bought the wrong type for my gas cooker, not so easy with Japanese instructions apparently) and prepared a
huge pasta dinner before going back into the tent, fleeing the cold wind outside. Before sleeping be had to perform
our traditional "evening ceremony" (as Koji called it) and drank some sake from a little drink package.
